UC San Diego Extended Studies will be piloting our new Course and Instructor Evaluation process on a select group of courses during the Fall 2023 quarter. We appreciate your participation in this valuable phase of our new Course and Instructor Evaluation implementation.
Students have 2 weeks to submit their Course and Instructor Evaluation beginning 7 days before the course end date and ending 7 days after the course end date.

Accessing your Course and Instructor Evaluations through Canvas
Students have two options for accessing their Course and Instructor Evaluation through Canvas.
1. Starting 7 days prior to the course end date you will see a message pop up on your Canvas Dashboard.
Click Go to Survey to view a list of active Course and Instructor Evaluations.
*If you do not want to take the survey when the pop up message appears, click Do it Later. The message will continue to reappear on your Canvas Dashboard until the surveys are completed or until the survey window has closed (7 days after course end date).
2. Students can also access the Course and Instructor Evaluation within the Canvas course. 7 days prior to the course end date, a link to the Course Evaluation will appear within the course on the bottom right Activity Panel. Students can click the link listed in the Course Evaluations area to access the survey.
Once you have clicked one of the survey access links you will be taken to your My Surveys page.
Click the Course Evaluation you want to begin.
Complete all questions and click Submit at the bottom when you have finished.
Accessing your Course and Instructor Evaluations through Email
Students are sent two emails from unex-ir@ucsd.edu that include links to the survey. The first email is sent 7 days before the course end date and the reminder email is sent 3 days before the course end date.
To access your Course and Instructor Evaluation open the email and click on the Go to Survey link next to your course.
From your My Survey list click on the name of the Course and Instructor Evaluation you would like to access.
Complete all questions and click Submit at the bottom when you have finished.
FAQ
Can I change my response after I submit my Course Evaluation?
Yes, but a staff member will need to reset your attempt. Please email unex-ir@ucsd.edu and include your name and the name of the course that you would like to redo the survey in.
Why don't I see all my courses listed my Survey Summary
Courses will be listed during their active survey window which is 7 days prior to the course end date and 7 days after the course end date.
*For Fa23 students: A select group of courses have been selected for the pilot phase and during Fa23 you may have some courses that are still conducted using our previous tool.
