How to log into Canvas UC San Diego Extended Studies

Canvas is where students and instructors access their course content. Follow the steps below to log in.

How to login if you know both the email address and password

  1. Navigate to Canvas (https://extensioncanvas.ucsd.edu).
  2. Click the Click Here to Login button.

  3. Enter the email address and password associated with your UC San Diego Extended Studies/MyExtension account.

  4. Click LOGIN. If you authenticated successfully, you'll be taken to your Canvas Dashboard. If the password you're entering is not working, click on Are you a student and forgot your password? then continue on step 3 for How to login if you only know the email address and not the password.

How to login if you only know the email address and not the password

  1. Navigate to Canvas (https://extensioncanvas.ucsd.edu).
  2. Click the Click Here to Login button.

  3. Click on Are you a student and forgot your password?

  4. Enter the email address associated with your UC San Diego Extended Studies account.

  5. Click SUBMIT.
  6. Instructions on how to set your password will be emailed to you. Once you receive the email, click on the provided link to set your password.

  7. On this page, input your new password and re-enter, then click Submit.

  8. If the password reset is successful, you'll see the Password Updated page. Click on CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE.
  9. Continue on step 3 for How to login if you know both the email address and password from above.

Access your Course from MyExtension

If you are already logged in to MyExtension, you can check your course to access Canvas.

  1. After logging in to MyExtension (more info about What is my MyExtension login?), click on My Courses.

  2. Click on the course you want to access.

  3. Under Online Provider, click the link to access you course content.

Access Canvas from MyExtension

If you are already logged in to MyExtension, you may already have access to Canvas.

  1. After following What is my MyExtension login?, click on Canvas in the Menu or click on your name, then click on Canvas.

  2. When you click on the login button on the Canvas homepage, you should see your Dashboard in Canvas.
