You will need to be using a supported browser with Cookies enabled to view a videos in Kaltura.
1. Check to see if your system and internet browser is compatible: Kaltura Player Supported Browsers / Devices
2. Enable third-party cookies in your web browser
Users may need to enable third-party cookies in their browser to view Kaltura content embedded in Canvas. This is because Kaltura needs to communicate with Canvas to verify who you are. Follow the instructions for your browser:
- Safari for macOS (make sure to select the correct version at the top)
- Within the "Preferences" open, click the “Privacy” tab. Follow either of the two steps below, depending on your version of Safari.
- Under “Cookies and website data” click “Always Allow.” At the bottom of the Privacy tab, make sure that Safari’s "Do Not Track" feature is unchecked.
OR - Make sure that "Prevent cross-site tracking" and “Block all cookies” are both unchecked.
- Under “Cookies and website data” click “Always Allow.” At the bottom of the Privacy tab, make sure that Safari’s "Do Not Track" feature is unchecked.
- Within the "Preferences" open, click the “Privacy” tab. Follow either of the two steps below, depending on your version of Safari.
- Safari for iOS (iPhone/iPad)
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- You may also need to disable tracking prevention
- Go to https://corp.kaltura.com/
- Click the yellow "Got it" button on the top right banner
Additional considerations for Mac users:
You may need to add the Kaltura cookie to Safari. Adding the cookie can be done in the following manner (iOS, OS X, macOS):
- In Safari, navigate to the page that is just before the page that contains the Kaltura media.
- Temporarily change your “Block Cookies” setting
iOS Users

- Open the Settings App.
- Go to Safari > Block Cookies.
- Make a note about what is currently selected.
- Select “Always Allow”.
OS X / macOS Users

- Click Safari > Preferences and click the “Privacy” tab.
- Make a note about what is currently selected.
- Under “Cookies and website data”, click “Always Allow”.
- Back in Safari, click the link that takes you to the page containing the Kaltura media. The media should load. If the media loads, it means that the cookie has been added to Safari and is now allowed.
- Change your “Block Cookies” setting back to its previous setting
iOS Users
- Open the Settings App.
- Go to Safari > Block Cookies.
- Select “Allow from websites I visit” or whatever had been previously selected.
OS X / macOS Users
- Click Safari > Preferences and click the “Privacy” tab.
- Select “Allow from websites I visit” or whatever had been previously selected.
Try refreshing your Module page in Canvas to view presentations.
