There are a variety of reasons as to why you may not be able to access Canvas and view your course. Below are the top reasons to help you with your troubleshooting:
1. Course is not in session
Courses become available to students beginning on the actual course start date as listed in MyExtension. To check the start date of your course, please log into MyExtension and click the My Courses tab, then click on the name of your specific class.
You have access to the course and its contents from the published start date through the published end date plus 30 days. There are no extensions and there is no way to access the content beyond those dates so please make sure you preserve a copy of any work prior to the end date. Canvas does allow students to download assignment submissions from previous courses but this does not apply to Discussion post or test submissions.
2. Enrollment is not complete
There is a 24-48 hour processing time between registration and enrollment to Canvas. If you registered for a course within 48 hours we may still be processing your enrollment.
Check to see if your enrollment is complete by logging into MyExtension, and clicking on the My Courses tab. If your class doesn’t show up in MyExtension, our systems haven’t processed your registration. If your course is visible in MyExtension, the course is in session and you still do not see it listed in Canvas please contact the Online Learning department, Submit a Help Request or call us at (858) 246-1059.
